What is Urban Dor?

Urban Dor is dedicated to strengthening the Jewish community of Greater Hartford by creating engaging events that bring together Jewish young professionals in their 20s and 30s. We aim to foster connections, promote cultural heritage, and build a vibrant, inclusive community where young adults can grow personally, professionally, and spiritually.

What does Urban Dor mean?

The word "Dor" (with one 'O') holds a dual significance: it represents both an opportunity for activities (think: open door) and, in Hebrew, it means generation. Urban Dor provides you with the chance to create new friendships, discover the beauty of the Jewish community, and connect with your Jewish heritage through a variety of cultural events.

Who runs the events?

Urban Dor partners with community organizations, synagogues, and local venues to bring events to you. Events are always hosted by Urban Dor.

Do I have to live in Hartford?

Nope, you can live anywhere really. Though, the further away you live the harder it is to get to our events - so we suggest not living "too" far away. We welcome people from all states.
